Bitmap: An image format that only defines an image in terms of black and white.
GIF: Graphics Interchange Format, is a compressed graphic file normally used for images that do not require too many colors (maximum 256).
PNG: PNG is a graphics format specifically designed for use on the World Wide Web. PNG enable compression of images without any loss of quality, including high-resolution images.
JPEG: JPEG graphics are capable of reproducing a full range of color while still remaining small enough for Web use. Most of the photographs you see on the Web are JPEG format.
XCF:
PSD: the default proprietary file of Adobe Photoshop. It allows for Adobe Photoshop formatting, Layers, DropShadows, etc. and is compatible with a variety of Adobe software such as InDesign.
SVG: Scalable Vector Graphics is a vector graphics language written in XML. Using SVG, graphics can be coded directly into an XML document.

alpha compositing is the process of combining an image with a background to create the appearance of partial transparency. It is often useful to render image elements in separate passes, and then combine the resulting multiple 2D images into a single, final image in a process called compositing. For example, compositing is used extensively when combining computer rendered image elements with live footage.

what does "RGB" have to do with image files?

RBG or red blue green is the model in which these 3 colours are combined to reproduce other colours.

these 3 colours combined correctly along with brightness can reproduce any colour.

2) What is the difference between VECTOR and BITMAP graphics? Explain both terms

VECTOR: Vector graphics is the use of points, lines, curves and polygons. These are all based on mathmatical equations to represent images in computer graphics.

BITMAP: Bitmap is a type of memory organisation used to store image files. Now, along with Pixmap it commonly refers to the similar concept of a spatially mapped array of pixels.

the difference between the two is that one creates images based on a mathmatical equation using lines, curves etc, and Bitmap uses an array of pixels saved in a certain way to generate its image.

Pixel is short for picture element. it is essentially a dot which contains aa certain amount of red blue and green along with the amount of brightness that makes up an image.

Define the word data? Data is defined as a collection of values.
Define the word information? Information is data that is meaningful, i.e. the potential meaning of the data has realised.
Define the word knowledge? Knowledge may be defines as a broad understanding of the context in which a particular piece of information occurs.
What does the data represent? Data represents a raw facts and figures.

TOPIC: VLAUE OF INFORMATION…

The topic which I have to teach is the value of information and it is fully laid out on page 11 of the handout I received. The handout displays the topic in 5 main parts in which I will make a PowerPoint presentation; I feel the presentation should be creatively laid out with illustrations and or animations to draw attention to the topic. After the PowerPoint my classroom plan will to be asking questions orally on the topic which the class have just seen and then set them a small and to the point quiz and the length of their homework will depend on the grade they received on this test.

Dear Mr. Barr & Ms O`Carolan,

To achieve this grade I had to ensure I stayed on top of my work from day one and consistently meet deadlines set by yourself for my assignments which were always completed to the best of my ability. Throughout the course I attended class punctually and paid attention during those periods. By bringing my subject books to class I was undoubtly able to fulfill my true potential in the subject and achieve such a good grade.
I enjoyed being taught by you immensely; via your clear explanations and in-depth examples I was able to understand and carry out various tasks using the computer. The way you presented yourself in class and your notes allowed me grasp many concepts which unquestionably contributed to my overall grade. You are both excellent teachers and a credit to your profession; you have inspired me to continue learning with an open and positive mind. I appreciate all your hard work and time you have spent assisting me, it’s meant so much to me.
Again, thank you for the teaching the course efficiently and for your devotion in helping me.
